UK Friends of the Association for the Wellbeing of Israel's Soldiers (AWIS)
The UK Friends of AWIS is the offshoot of an international, non-profit, non-political organisation established in 1942 by David Ben-Gurion. Its main objective is to promote the wellbeing of Israel's sons and daughters in uniform.

By initiating and helping support social, educational, cultural and recreational programs and facilities, UK Friends of AWIS strives to boost the morale of the IDF soldiers who defend the Jewish homeland, and it allows them well-earned moments of rest that are essential for their alertness and endurance.

AWIS is one of the best-known organisations in Israel and its diverse activities - carried out mostly by volunteers - accompany the soldiers from the very first day of their recruitment, through their obligatory service and afterward during their annual reserve duty, providing them with a genuine sense of care and love.

AWIS operates across Israel. It has its headquarters in Tel Aviv, three regional offices in Jerusalem, Be'er Sheva and Haifa, and over 80 branch offices spread across the country. Such a strong national presence enables AWIS to be accessible to the soldiers at any given time and attentive to their ongoing needs.

UKAWIS is one of many chapters around the world that actively raise funds for the wide range of projects and facilities that enhance the wellbeing of Israel's soldiers.

The unique essence of UKAWIS is the spirit of its members, volunteers and donors, who sincerely care for the young men and women serving in the IDF - as parents care for their own children.
